Users' Spell Hologram is an open-source protocol free to use in your own life and in your community of friends. If you want to spread The Hologram to a wider public, you can treat this as a users' license.

All of us who teach The Hologram also practice The Hologram and have a triangle of our own. There are at least three reasons for this. First, it is very important that we understand the protocol in all its complexity– how it feels and works best for us– and that when we speak about it, we can share firsthand experience. We also believe that if we are not ready to be a hologram, we are not ready to share the project. Third, this viral social practice should be spread from practitioner to practitioner, allowing it to morph and change through use. We recommend that we use the practice proportionally more than we discuss it in abstraction. When we are practicing a lot then we are less at risk of over-theorizing and thus losing the point. 

Sharing, facilitating, or teaching The Hologram is a chance to share what we have developed as much as it is a chance to learn, to collaborate, to find solidarity, and to build networks. When we present The Hologram, it is an opportunity to learn and ask questions, just like we do in the practice. It is a great excuse to invite an avalanche of very magical and practical information about how other people are organizing survival and thriving in the racial Capitalocene. In other words, there is no place for dogma, top-down authority, or ego boosting. Just like in the practice, everyone is always curious, no one is an expert, and the person who needs support is the teacher. 

All profit created by the sharing of The Hologram (social capital, financial capital, access to community or good energy) should be redistributed after we use what we need. We believe that by redistributing resources they will multiply.

The Hologram can always be used as a way to explore people's unspoken needs in a given situation and to help guide the redistribution of resources, including money, work, energy, and joy. We think money is a strange experiment that hasn't worked super well for most humans doing wage labor in a system that profits off their death. That's why generally, The Hologram hates money. That's also why we are not afraid to do our part to ruin the economy and our habits within it by paying people to try The Hologram for the first time (this is something we did when we had foundation money). We are literally buying their time away from wage labor so they can feel what care can be outside of money's utopia. 

While we pay a living wage to the project's workers and are developing ways to do that for more people, we don't ever want to become a business. Nor do we want to be used by those with interest in financial profit.

We certainly don't ever want anyone to be charged to learn, experience, build, or practice The Hologram. No Hologram events or experiences should ever cost any individual money (no matter how rich they are) though we are happy to accept and redistribute institutional funds. The Hologram is a gift we give each other, and it must remain so as we imagine our way out of the delusions of capital, one gift at a time. 

When it is truly practiced with focus, attention, and time, The Hologram will naturally destroy any corporation (like Amazon, Apple, Google, The Museum of Modern Art, or an Ivy League university). The honesty and solidarity produced in the practice will naturally erode power structures and destroy harmful systems of reality maintenance.

The Hologram is for everyone. However, we the facilitators and organizers of The Hologram are a relatively small group of people, so we cannot provide support to everyone at once. Thus, when deciding where to put our holographic light beams of energy, we believe that prioritizing the care of people who are hurt most by systems of oppression should come before offering to support the well-being of people with power. While we think that workers could and should make the boss a hologram and witness their vulnerability, we believe that the workers themselves should be stable and healthy, as should be their caretakers, before we labor to help the boss.

The Hologram and any events or projects that are related to it are based first and foremost on the creation of relationships, solidarity, and health. For this reason, decisions for or plans about The Hologram happen strategically slowly in a way that multiplies these three things: 1. When planning events, meetings, or other manifestations, we always wait for everyone who wants to be there. 2. We move at the pace of our relationships which means that we wait for people to be ready, for communication to be clear, for trust to be present. 3. We don't feel rushed by institutional deadlines or some inherited sense of efficiency or speed.

When we share The Hologram, our goal is to offer enough structure, clarity, support, and information about why the practice exists and how it works so that participants feel grounded and supported enough to take the practice and make it what they want it to be. We want people to feel excited and inspired to try it and play with it and make it their own, and we strive to create the conditions that support that.

The projects and workshops that come out of The Hologram are a gift and should be treated as something very special, from somewhere deep in the earth. We can treat the manifestations of The Hologram how we would like to treat other gifts that emerge from the earth – like water, like trees, or like life itself – with curiosity and care.

When we are doing the labor of facilitation and organizing, we should celebrate and care for ourselves as a part of this amazing care package that emerged from and for the world. We share information and energy that we collect through The Hologram back to the project's ancestors, to make sure our energy bank is full and we can know our work is not useless.

We invite people with power over us to practice The Hologram and see if they continue to want their power.
